We want to be a part of your next project, so call us to find out if you can harvest some solar energy. It’s yours for the taking! Altenergy Incorporated is headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia, with branches in Staunton/Harrisonburg Virginia, Atlanta, Georgia and Boise, Idaho. We build solar energy systems, providing all types of customers with a professional process to find the most cost-effective solutions available. We partner with Electrical engineers, Building Energy Management Professionals, Energy auditors, From solar hot water systems for homes to large municipal photovoltaic electric systems, we provide customers with the planning, cost analysis and design experience to make the whole process understandable and effective. Our customers include homeowners, business owners, general contractors, city and county municipal governments, architects, academic institutions and developers. We have an extensive roster of people who have discovered our dedication to building quality systems that perform. We understand tax credits, incentives, and renewable energy credits, and will explain them and assist you in utilizing them. Your project is our passion.
We know there are many reasons to make an investment in solar energy, and there are new and exciting developments that seem to be in the news every day. How do you know which is the most effective, while ensuring that the system will operate reliably for up to 25 years? We believe that systems that last, and produce energy at a cost that is competitive with fossil fuels, have the ability to provide customers with outstanding economic and environmental benefits. Our approach to you will be based on finding ways to produce the most energy with the highest quality equipment at the least amount of cost. When your project is completed, you will have a long-lasting energy system that will require very little maintenance.
We invite you to call and find out if a solar system can make sense for you and your family. We use the phrase, “makes sense” often, because we want to make sure that your return is what you deserve and expect. We find that almost anyone with consistent hot water use has a very good opportunity to reduce the traditional energy (gas or electricity) they use with solar energy, saving money each month as well as reducing carbon dioxide and other pollutants and emissions. We often have good opportunities to replace inefficient or worn out hot water heaters or boilers during our installations, further reducing energy demand while insuring that you always have hot water available. We also build comprehensive systems that can be used for space heat, and build solar photovoltaic (PV) electricity systems. Grid-tied (meaning that you can either use or sell the electricity you produce) technology has developed into an extremely safe and efficient way to generate electricity, and accounts for almost half of the systems we build now, an increase of 100% in the last year. We often use evacuated tube technology from Apricus, and PV equipment from many UL approved manufacturers. We source a wide variety of equipment options, designing systems that will work, last and look the way you want them to.
The future of energy supply in our country will include many different sources, with solar, wind and hydro as critical pieces of the puzzle. We are always looking for ways to show students of all ages opportunities to learn about alternative energy and efficiency. We are deeply committed to community projects, and are working with students, teachers and volunteers on many different fronts. At Altenergy, we believe that imported energy sources strain our ability to retain our economic, environmental and political independence. Alternative energy can improve our existing energy infrastructure, and most importantly, can provide good economic returns. Paul Risberg, CEO, has a vision for Altenergy that taps into the rapid evolution of renewable energy resources, but that always puts reliability at the top of the list. We focus on economic return, and on finding opportunities to show you how to put the best energy-saving technologies to work for you, today!
A typical solar hot water system that uses your existing hot water heater as backup costs between 6 and 8 thousand dollars, and has an 8-10 year payback period for a family of four. Federal Tax credits can lower that cost by 30%, and Georgia has additional state incentives. We expect the systems to last at least 20 years, so the return on investment is very good, especially considering the potential for rate increases for traditional energy in the future. Modern, robust systems often increase the value of the real estate they reside on by the cost of the system itself, providing excellent return on investment. By integrating systems into new construction, even better return numbers can be generated, especially when included in mortgage costs. We have designed and built over 350 solar electric and solar hot water systems in Virginia, Idaho and Georgia. When you call, one of our project managers will answer your questions, and we hope that you will find the process as gratifying as we do.
