Our Technologies
What technologies are working for most people?
How do you make good decisions about where to invest in energy? We all need and consume it, so let's figure out how much it really costs, and see if there are good options for reducing those costs. That's where the experience and dedicated people at Altenergy have devoted the time to understand and evaluate the technology that works. Some is newer, tested by modern agencies to insure reliable equipment. Some is older, still around because it has superior price, reliability and production qualities. We have installed over 100 systems, and cost benefit analysis still drives our search.
Tax incentives, rebates and renewable energy credit programs all impact feasibility. You may be eligible for some or all of these. Initial costs may be high, but because the systems have excellent durability, benefits are often substantial. Solar thermal systems usually offer the best payback options, with photovoltaic electricity systems (PV) following closely if you can access state incentives. Practicality is our guiding principle, and we know that a system that pays for itself and provides seamless operation is a realistic system, allowing customers to replace traditionaly purchased energy. We build a lot of solar thermal systems for hot water that you use every day. We also build a lot of solar electricity systems that provide you and your utility with electricity, utilizing grid tied technology to maximize usefulness (and financial benefits).
What is solar thermal?
When collectors move heat from the sun into water or air, you have a solar thermal system. Residential hot water is usually in demand, and accounts for as much as 30% of a family’s energy consumption, and we like the fit. You can also heat living space with hot water, so systems can be even more comprehensive and efficient.
What is PV?
Solar collectors that directly convert sunlight to electricity are PhotoVoltaic. The type and quality of these panels is important, in addition to critical system design and site orientation issues. We have certified design and install services, and extensive relationships with the largest equipment wholesalers in the country. We are the price and engineering leaders on the East Coast, in system sizes from 2 to 50 kilowatts. We have active partnerships to build even larger commercial systems.
What happens when the sun doesn’t shine?
Practicality forces us to design systems that ensure hot water at the tap, or seamlessly provides power when you need it. Altenergy Incorporated knows how to use the very best and efficient technologies to build a reliable solar energy system for you. A system that will pay for itself and provide your family with clean, renewable energy for many years.
