Altenergy Upper Marlboro Branch has completed installation of the 31.62kW Solar PV System with 93 Axitec 340W PV panels, two Frontus Primo inverters, and an Ecolibrium Ballasted Racking system. The system produces 38,698 kWh annually, and offsets 63,492 pounds of carbon dioxide per year.
The City of College Park, Maryland issued a Request for Proposal for a minimum 31.10kW Solar PV System installed on the roof of the City's Department of Public Works maintenance garage located at 9217 51st Ave, College Park, Maryland. The contract was won by Altenergy in February 2018 and system powered on in May.
The Department of Public Works is responsible for multiple sustainability initiatives throughout the City of College Park, including recycling, composting, yard waste, and cleanup events. "Going solar" allows the Department of Public Works, as well as the City of College Park as a whole, to further promote their environmental image through the use of clean, sustainable, and renewable energy.
Additionally, they are responsible for the City's maintenance of snow and ice removal, street paving and repair, and tree and landscape upkeep.
